Job Description Summary

 

Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor/Manager, the Quality Technician will be focused on administering the document control system, ensure measurement systems are maintained and calibrated, and perform product first article qualifications and other projects as assigned.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist Quality Manager with evaluation of manufacturing and quality issues
  • Perform first articles and tooling inspections and document results
  • Program CMM for product inspections
  • Control and Maintain inspection equipment calibration program
  • Perform gage repeatability and reproducibility studies
  • Perform mold component and tool inspections and document results
  • Generate and maintain quality department documentation
  • Assist Quality Inspectors with job duties as needed
  • Perform system audits and shipping audits as needed
  • Participate in plant-wide safety effort safe work environment
  • Generate and control quality/manufacturing reports and records, as requested
  • Lead/Participate in quality improvement projects
  • Provide Plant wide support
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment
  • Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned
  • Administer document control system

  • Must be able to communicate product quality issues to QA Manager in order to determine if product should be accepted or rejected
  • Ability to understand, communicate and follow verbal and written instruction
  • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations in English and Metric
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • Ability to effectively gather and present information

Education/Experience

 

  • Two-year technical degree, ASQ CQT certification or relevant experience preferred but not required
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Calibration or Meteorology experience/certification
  • CMM programming background/training
  • Statistics background/training
  • Experience in plastic injection molding preferred
  • Experience with ISO standards and or audits
