Position Overview

Plant Foreperson Trainee is directly responsible for; maintaining positive customer relations,  supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in the manufacturing of concrete products.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Communicates with Operations Manager on issues affecting business, personnel, and safety
  • Addresses employee and customer relations issues.
  • Prepares invoices, delivery tickets, and related shipping documents and assigns drivers for scheduled deliveries.
  • Maintains payroll and driver records.
  • Reviews and approves the processing of delivery tickets, purchase orders, fuel consumption, equipment maintenance, and mileage sheets.
  • Oversees and maintains appropriate inventory levels.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in business management or equivalent of two years related supervisory experience and/or training.
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in: farming , transportation, retail or construction – WE WILL TRAIN
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must be quick to adapt and able to thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and cubic yards. Knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
