PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Operational Services Manager is responsible for all activities assigned thereto and included in Operational Services areas of focus. He/she should familiarize himself/herself with all lines represented and have a strong working knowledge of each service to be provided. The Manager will organize and assign duties within the Operational Services team whether related directly to a service or a team building solution. Each member of the Operational Services team should be trained to cross serve and perform as one unit for problem solving and for the management for any projects assigned to the team. This manager is to assist and provide resources to his/her team to assure success.  

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Able to provide effective advice and services in order to maintain and improve machinery, equipment and facilities.
  • Lead in the development of capital improvement projects, conduct feasibility studies, estimates; Utilize technical staff to develop, plan, and execute projects.
  • Oversees the preventative maintenance programs for lines of business assigned and is committed to the continual process improvements of such.
  • Oversees the development of and assignment of skilled labor throughout assigned lines of business.
  • Managing staff to achieve the financial goals of the department.
  • Responsible for Work Acquisition forecasting and Backlog Management
  • Manage Operational Services workflow for deliverables to the client.
  • Manage workforce development, such as talent/skills management, training needs and manufacturers certification requirements.
  • Ensure projects that include Operational Services scope of work are completed smoothly and that all the essential players have the tools to be successful.
  • Attend and participate in new project kickoff meetings that include Operational Services scope of work
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering; or a minimum of 10 years of construction or aggregates management experience.
  • MSHA Trained (Part 48)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiar with technical software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS CONTINUED:

 

  • Technical background in construction materials acquisition, processing, and implementation.
  • Strong project and team management skills
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
  • Knowledge of state, federal, mechanical, and electrical regulations as they apply to the Operational Services division scope of work.
  • Be able to interpret electrical, mechanical, mining and civil plans.
  • Understanding of Electrical Theory and Construction knowledge and experience
  • Strong Organizational, Math, Communication and Networking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management.

               Employee may work in the following conditions.

  • Wet or humid conditions, Work near moving mechanical parts, Work in high, precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals.

 

NOISE LEVEL

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
