Job Summary

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Precast Concrete Quality Control Manager to oversee the Quality Control Department operations at two precast concrete plants. The successful candidate will lead a small team of QC technicians and will be responsible for supporting the development of the quality control technicians, ensuring the highest standards of quality are met in the precast plants in accordance with our Quality Control Program, and overseeing and maintaining relevant records of all products. QC manager will also communicate Quality Information and Concerns to other departments effectively and concisely.

 

Job Duties

 

  • Quality Control Program
    • Maintain, execute, and when necessary develop the Quality Control Program to ensure compliance with project and agency specifications.
    • Oversee record keeping of inspections, testing, and other documentation as required by QC program and Job specific request
    • Monitor mix designs and ensure the product is meeting all relevant requirements while ensuring the mix does not hamper production at the facility
    • Continuously look for opportunities to improve QC team and processes in QC department
  • Communication
    • Retrieve and provide relevant QC documents to the team in a timely fashion
    • Work closely with Project Leads, Estimators, Engineering, Drafting and Leadership Team to address and correct deficiencies during the manufacturing process.
    • Bring up processes that are inefficient for the team and work with the leadership team to improve processes
  • Certification
    • Maintain NPCA, DOT, PCI, and ACPA certifications as needed at each plant
    • Ability to gain and maintain Quality Control Certifications (ACI, NPCA, OSHA, PQS, etc.)
    • Ensure team is maintaining their certifications and are striving for additional certifications
  • Leadership/Team Building
    • Provide leadership and training quality control technicians
    • Empower QC Technicians to grow in roles, take on more responsibility, and look for growth opportunities
    • Work with QC technicians and production staff to build a culture of quality at each plant
    • Work with leadership to grow and support your team as the business grows around them

 

Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or GED (AA or Bachelors a Plus)
  • 5+ years of Quality Control Experience (Heavy Manufacturing Experience a Plus)
  • 2+ years of Managerial Experience and team development
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Proven ability to independently complete tasks with minimal oversight
  • Willingness to travel between two plants with occasional travel to sight visits or additional plants
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.

 

Preferred Requirements

 

  • Experience in Precast or CIP concrete a plus
  • Experience with Concrete Pipe a plus
  • ACI, NPCA, PCI or other relevant QC concrete certs a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) a plus

 

Compensation

 

  • Yearly Target Salary is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00
  • Yearly bonus eligible
