Job Summary

 

Under the direct leadership of the Engineering Manager, the Product Engineer will be responsible for the technical product leadership of the Plastibeton product line (Cable Trench).

 

Job Location

 

This is a remote role that supports multiple facilities, this person will be required to be on-site at these facilities periodically (Acworth, GA, Kennedale, TX, Candiac, Quebec.)

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Perform, oversee, and direct the product design, detailing and specifications along with the product prototyping and testing of high-density polymer concrete or related products.
  • Support the Production Engineer at the manufacturing facility on product design, drawings, and plant capacity for any new or modified product.
  • Support the Materials Engineer to validate sustainability improvements and other material changes to the product design.
  • Closely partner with the Product Management team throughout the product development stages of new products and product improvements.
  • Provide the sales and customer service team technical support in the pre-sale (e.g., specifications) and post-sale (e.g., installation) processes.
  • Work closely with CAD Designers, Engineering Manager, Regional Sales Managers, and Customer Service Representatives to ensure designs meet all customer needs.
  • Review manufacturing drawings for immediate production.
  • Update and maintain digital database (e.g., engineering documents).
  • Meet with customers or representatives to provide technical feedback.
  • Support the Production Quality team by reviewing and approving product deviations, dispositions, and CAR investigations.
  • Physically attending customer or plant meetings as needed to provide technical support.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • EIT or PE certification
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in manufacturing and construction strongly preferred
  • Experience with concrete or polymer concrete is preferred
  • Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications
  • Ability to read construction and civil plans
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Tools and Applications
  • Experience with 3D software (Autodesk Inventor knowledge is an asset)
  • Experience in finite element analysis software tools preferred
  • Must be able to handle several project deadlines independently
  • Must be able to work closely with others
  • Must be highly detail oriented with good communication skills

 

Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands

 

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, strength to lift and carry files and products weighing up to 40 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Must be able to work in plant production environment as needed to validate designs, review progress on special projects, perform job safety analysis, and other tasks which will result in some exposure to noise, dust, cold, etc.
  • Must be able to wear PPE when applicable and follow all safety measures.
  • Overnight/Business Travel approximately 20% within the US, Canada, and Mexico.
