Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for managing, analyzing, and collecting outstanding balances for major retail Home Center customer accounts for Oldcastle Lawn & Garden. This role focuses on maintaining the financial integrity of customer accounts through accurate oversight, timely research, and resolution of open balances, while supporting strong customer and internal business relationships.

Job Responsibilites
Customer & Internal Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, sales teams, and internal partners.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with customers regarding account status, discrepancies, and collection matters.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and sales representatives to address customer requests and resolve issues.
Accounts Receivable Management
- Research and resolve account discrepancies, short payments, and customer inquiries.
- Prepare customer refunds and account adjustment requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies.
- Monitor accounts to ensure adherence to corporate credit policies and consistent handling of collection activities.
- Analyze customer payment practices and provide recommendations on delinquent accounts.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and maintain monthly reports on A/R aging, account health, and collection performance.
- Identify high‑risk or problem accounts and provide ongoing updates to the Controller.
- Run sales and A/R‑related reports from internal systems and compile data in spreadsheets for analysis and decision support.
- Review, research, and resolve items in the unapplied cash account.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, including SOX‑related documentation and processes.
Other
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR a minimum of 3 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
- Previous accounting experience with strong understanding of A/R principles and practices.
Technical Skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Ability to calculate and interpret financial figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Accurate data entry skills with experience using 10‑key tools.
- Ability to read and interpret documents including purchase orders, receiving documents, vendor statements, invoices, credit applications, and compliance documentation.
