Overview

 

As a Data Science (DS) Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering requirements related to the DS use cases, performing data analysis, creating user stories with acceptance criteria, and working with the BI Engineering team to build the data pipeline to deliver the Product. As a DS Analyst, you should have the ability to demonstrate a drive for delivering business results, use rich interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, and be comfortable making quick, data-driven decisions and coordinating across functional teams.

 

Job Summary

 

  • Work with IT and Business leaders to identify DS use cases and expand capabilities (e.g. data visualization, regression, prescriptive analytics, simulation) to mine and effectively communicate business insights and recommendations
  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to Productionize (cleanse, harmonize, standardize, automate) existing and new data sources to enrich new/existing models
  • Be a thought partner to our internal customers to understand their vision and priorities and develop specific recommendations leveraging Data science technology & tools across Products, Customers, Divisions etc.
  • Exhibit principled entrepreneurship by challenging status-quo, proposing new techniques, approaches, and data sources to improve quality of tools, insights, and recommendations
  • Work with business stakeholders to gain in-depth understanding of their business processes and identify opportunities to improve visibility into their Operational performance and areas of improvement
  • Build and expand business knowledge around Building materials industry

 

Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics or data science or mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Experience utilizing SQL to navigate data stores
  • 2+ years of experience working on data analytics solutions
  • Experience in any enterprise data visualization software (e.g Tableau or PowerBI)
  • Experience in R or Python programming language
  • Experience in data extraction from enterprise-level data sources like Infor-M3, Salesforce etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and developing relationships with team members and customers
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to details

 

Capabilities and Qualifications

 

  • Working knowledge of Jira preferred
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Travel – 10%
