Position Description

 

The Director, Agile Management Office (AMO) will provide support to the portfolio of agile projects, coaching and mentoring the organization on the Agile approach (fixed time and budget but flexible scope vs. fixed scope). Similar to a PMO leader, this role enables tracking of progress across projects and will set the tone for this new culture. The objective is to implement a monthly heartbeat across all of our projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Drives the cultural transformation in our project teams regularly reporting out program status to facilitate a continuous delivery methodology in concert with the solutions & services teams running Agile.
  • Coaches project teams as well as business stakeholders in how to properly demonstrate progress, enable swift decision making on scope, where needed, and enable a higher degree of agility in our program execution approach.
  • Enables early stage ideation process for faster iterations with business stakeholders prior to a formal project commitment and execution.
  • Facilitates the review of status of projects, schedules and budgets, including project impediments and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
  • Facilitate portfolio progress updates through the life-cycle of the project, from initiation to closure, focusing on Agile.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and clear instructions to Scrum Masters/Agile Teams responsible for the agile execution of software projects.
  • Provide guidance and improvements to our processes to optimize the execution for related projects and the portfolio and continuously improve our AMO.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience
  • 8-10 years of manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience transforming an organization from a waterfall to Agile culture
  • Agile Certification(s)
  • ServiceNow ITBM Experience desired
