Position Overview

 

The IT Compliance Intern position is responsible for working with the Compliance team to support the function that includes ITGC SOX audit support, special project support, and creating/updating policies/procedures. The successful Candidate will be a detailed oriented, analytical, and organized individual who is also self-starter and can assist in coordination of significant work efforts across the IT organization.

 

This is a part-time internship consisting of 20 hours per week, and will be based out of the CRH Americas Materials headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • IT SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) Audit support, including coordinating control requests from internal and external auditors;
  • Facilitating control evidence requirements gathering throughout the year to ensure timely reviews by the control owners
  • Creating/Updating policies and procedures to meet current compliance standards; or mature our existing processes
  • Coordinating user access reviews with business financial management semi-annually
  • Compliance project support as needed throughout the year to meet goals; and support SOX compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

 

  • University degree in progress with third year or higher standing in Finance, Accounting, or General Business Management.
  • Proficient competency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations
  • Strong presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including results packaging and development presentations where required
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities to manage multiple project streams and complexity; propensity for thinking through projects in a process-oriented way required
  • Working experience with visualization technologies, particularly Tableau.

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Must be 18 years in age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
