Purpose of the Role


This role will ensure that Oldcastle Infrastructure has an enterprise aligned strategy for growth, focused on the largest, most profitable business opportunities.  It will ensure the development and execution of business plans in the Communications, Energy & Transportation Segment, across all of the OI businesses and will lead strategy development, key account planning and marketing requirements to support success.


Position Overview


This leader will be required to develop strategies and execute plans to achieve segment growth targets.  He/she will be responsible for synthesizing opportunities across all of the business units to ensure we approach the customer with a holistic OI offering that meets their segment needs.  This individual will lead Key Account development to ensure that we better understand our customer needs and develop Key Account plans to support growth.  Lastly, he/she will be responsible for Industry Marketing, ensuring we provide the marketing support necessary to support the growth strategy and our customer/sales organization needs.


Key Responsibilities


  • Create business plans that identify segment growth potential and analyze risk necessary to build a competitive advantage and increase profitability in the business
  • Manage all aspects of the segment strategies including market research, customer needs identification, business case development, key account plan development and marketing support
  • Lead market research efforts to include value chain development, market sizing, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis to better understand unmet customer needs and develop value-creation opportunities
  • Define key account strategies to expand share of wallet with key accounts and strengthen partnerships to include product roadmap development and sales and service requirements to ensure success
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and business leaders, aligning on areas of focus and roadblocks that need to be overcome
  • Identify and evaluate disruptive trends and new technologies that could enable significant opportunities for growth

  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research with well-defined scope
  • Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Office, etc.

Best Practices


  • Weekly reporting to Vice President, Strategic Marketing
  • Monthly check-ins with Business Unit and VP Marketing to identify resource needs and ways to support and optimize performance
  • Weekly check in with Key Account and Marketing Managers to ensure execution of business strategy


Key Performance Measurements


  • Segment strategy completion and approval from Business Unit Presidents
  • Key Account Business Plan Development and Execution
  • Segment Revenue and Key Account Revenue


Position Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering; MBA preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in a business marketing related role
  • 3 or more years of working experience in a market research analytical role
