Job Summary

 

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop his/her skillset in Corporate Accounting with a focus on Marketing specific areas while getting exposure to Senior finance and non-finance leadership across the organization. This role will report to the Accounting Manager. The Marketing Finance Lead’s primary role will be to act as a Finance Business partner for the APG Oldcastle Marketing team with responsibility for managing all elements of the Finance process. Additionally, this role will assist with additional Corporate Accounting responsibilities such as reconciliations and general ledger processes. This is a vital role with significant leadership touchpoints and varied future opportunities for career progression. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, trustworthy, a self-starter, results-driven and an excellent communicator. Prior experience in general accounting, journal entries, variance analysis, and ERP systems is a plus.

This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Corporate Office in Atlanta, GA. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Finance Business Partnering – Marketing (50-80% of time): Partner with Marketing leaders on all aspects of Financial Management.  Analyze monthly performance compared to budget and forecasts.  Work side-by-side with Marketing to ensure expenses are aligned and appropriately reported.  This role will “sit” with Marketing and be a liaison between the department and Corporate Accounting departments to facilitate accurate and timely reporting to decision makers.
  • Corporate Accounting (20-50% of time): Assist with corporate reporting for other corporate functions as needed. (e.g. HR, IT, Shared Services, etc). Assist with the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, GL review for coding accuracy, as well as internal and external audit requests and ad hoc reporting. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for manager review and approval in alignment with corporate finance deadlines.
  • Transactional Accounting: Create purchase orders and process corporate invoices.
  • Month-end/Year-end Close: Assist the period-end close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of corporate accounting/finance entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Budget/Forecast: Assist with budgeting/forecasting for corporate departments as needed.
  • Reconciliations: Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Reporting: Preparation of reporting for Marketing and other Corporate budget owners.
  • Process improvement: Recommend and lead improvements to current processes.
  • Collaboration: Maintain a working relationship within our corporate finance team and with the teams in the divisions and departments.
  • Ad hoc: Support ad hoc financial information requests, analyses, and other special projects, as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of related work experience in Accounting or Finance (public or private) is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Action-oriented and purposeful.
  • Ability to meet deadlines & an initiative-taker.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience and corporate levels both within and outside of the company.
