Position Overview

 

The Master Data Specialist will be responsible for implementing, documenting, executing and continuously improving the processes of proper data entry and maintenance in our Procurement systems. Ensuring consistency with business objectives, our many local ERPs as well as (global and regional) IT strategy and its continuous improvement efforts .  Providing a robust user friendly, efficient and effective 'digital procurement' experience. Deliver the master data quality that meets the expectations of Procurement and our key stakeholders and internal customers. The data management areas maintained include: item & service master, category tree, Company Org chart, vendor master (supplier portal). This position will be based in the Atlanta, GA Headquarters.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

  • Master data setup: Creation, modification, deletion of master data and control interfaced information. Document and maintain process flows and develop any internal and external training material required

  • Other tables: create and maintain user tables, segmentation, item groups, item categories etc. Document and maintain Process Flows

  • Customer facing documents: create and maintain training documents, checklists and smart forms to support internal customers and help improving the input (First Time Right)

  • Work & communicate closely with other employees (Procurement at group and on OpCo level, Finance, IT) as needed to resolve questions, issues, etc. Process requests via the ticketing system in various topics - within the agreed timelines

  • Work with manufacturing locations and vendors to resolve missing data issues so that items, vendors, costs changes etc. are processed in a timely fashion

  • Hold internal contacts and vendors accountable for providing accurate information

  • Run system reports and distribute to appropriate personnel

  • Ongoing data clean up and entry of additional data, monitor master data quality

  • Propose solutions to complex master data related questions for projects

  • Decide upon and execute improvement activities

  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times while representing the company. 

  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

  • Other duties as required by management.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

 

  • BS required; information science, data management, computer science or related field degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Procurement Master Data experience; in international setting a plus

  • Experience in global/multi ERP organization (nice to have)

  • SAP MM or Oracle ERP experience (preferred)

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

  • Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • Detailed knowledge of the use of technology as an enabler for enhancing procurement processes

  • Good business, commercial and financial acumen

  • Able to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organisation, across all business functions and to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with sufficient gravitas and credibility to be able to influence stakeholders at all levels (both internal and external)

  • Strong team player with good planning and organization skills

  • Possess strong analytical skills and solid problem solving skills

  • Customer service orientated attitude

  • Delivers accurate information in a timely fashion serving our internal customers properly.

  • Ability to effectively interface with cross-functional team members and external vendors/partners
