Position Overview

 

The Program Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the Procurement Academy. This position will develop and implement a regional training and development program in alignment with the global academy approach. The purpose of the Procurement Academy will be to build foundational knowledge and competencies on core procurement, analytical and leadership topics with the procurement professional workforce and all functions involved in Procurement processes.  The Procurement Academy can be a blended approach to learning, combining assessments with online courses, classroom trainings and coaching.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Assessing the current state of training programs and formulating strategies to evolve the programs to address capability gaps and anticipate future needs.
  • Evolve the training program portfolio to meet the needs of the business and the diverse training needs of a global, multi-generational workforce.
  • Address the evolving capability needs of the function and the organizational design landscape.
  • Develop and implement a set of metrics to monitor progress and prioritize specific actions to improve.
  • Make key decisions including deciding which process improvement opportunities to pursue; determining prioritization of program initiatives; owning key performance indicators to measure and demonstrate success and improvements.
  • Train employees, plan the work of others, review the work quality and quantity of others as well as recommend budget amounts.
  • Act as a project manager during the academy implementation, including planning of objectives, deliverables, schedule, dependencies, business case, change management challenges, risks, resource planning
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times while representing the company. 
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Other duties as required by management.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

 

  • BS required (preferably in business-related discipline, Procurement, Human Resources or other related field).
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of business experience required with at least 1 year in Procurement
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in any of the following: Participant in a Leadership Development Program; Development of Training Strategy, Curriculum and/or Leadership Development Program; Supply Chain; Operations; Human Resources; and/or related field
  • 2 or more years of project management experience; preferably in an international setting
  • Experience in developing and managing training programs.
  • People management experience is preferred

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • Strong understanding and experience in cultivating and applying project change management.
  • Track record of successful leadership with project management
  • Ability to influence and build coalitions among the various stakeholders.
  • Team player with excellent inter-personal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Proficient in encouraging diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation.
  • Demontrated ability to create presentations, organization communications and business cases.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
  • A solid understanding of the business and significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both Procurement and the business.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to present ideas in user-friendly manner.
