Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled IT eCommerce Engineer, with current experience implementing BigCommerce B2B and B2C, to join our Digital Technology team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of eCommerce B2B and B2C solutions. This position involves translating business requirements into technical deliverables and ensuring effective collaboration between stakeholders and development teams. The preferred candidate will possess a robust development background, and an understanding of manufacturing operations. Experience integrating with other functions of ERP, CRM, PIMS, MarTech, DataLake, and related technologies is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement composable BigCommerce solutions for B2B and B2C.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and marketers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Customize and extend BigCommerce functionality through API integrations, app integrations, and composable architecture.
- Implement best practices in ecommerce development to ensure scalability, performance, and security of BigCommerce solutions.
- Utilize Agile development methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Translate business requirements into system components, including capabilities, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and constraints.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to design cohesive project strategies and facilitate effective collaboration throughout development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Analyze project objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications, and interactions with other systems.
- Provide development support for internal and customer-facing BigCommerce environments, particularly related to customized applications, user permissions, security settings, and platform administration for peak performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in eCommerce development, more recently in B2B.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with BigCommerce, including platform administration, theme customization, app development, and API integrations.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce concepts, principles, and best practices, including SEO, conversion optimization, and payment gateways.
- Experience in integrating BigCommerce with other systems using APIs (REST/SOAP), middleware, and third-party tools such as MuleSoft.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on iterative development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with composable architecture principles and platforms such as MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) is a plus.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, with knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and ERP integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions on the eCommerce platform.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
