Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) Team Manager to lead our Manufacturing Execution Systems team. This critical role will oversee the implementation, optimization, and support of our MES platform, ensuring seamless integration with production operations.
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive our smart manufacturing initiatives and deliver exceptional service to our production teams.
Job Location
This is an onsite position located at our Bulls Gap, TN plant or our Brooksville, FL plant.
Job Responsibilities
Technical & System Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of the MES platform across all manufacturing facilities.
- Lead MES implementation projects, system upgrades, and integration initiatives with ERP, SCADA, quality, and warehouse systems.
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.
- Drive continuous improvement of MES functionality and user experience.
- Manage system validation activities and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of MES analysts, Application Engineers, and support specialists.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and support professional development.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with IT, operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams.
Operational Excellence
- Establish and maintain 24/7 support coverage for critical manufacturing systems, including metrics and KPI’s to measure and monitor system performance.
- Implement change management processes to minimize production disruption.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, and other applicable regulations.
- Support regulatory audits and inspections.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and execute the MES roadmap aligned with business objectives and manufacturing strategy.
- Manage the architecture and design of the technology stack and software components of the MES system.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and Industry 4.0 opportunities (IoT, AI/ML, advanced analytics).
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Develop and manage annual budget for MES operations, projects, and resources.
- Provide leadership with regular updates on system performance, projects, and strategic initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field required.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or related field preferred.
- 7 + years of hands-on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- 3 + years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record implementing and supporting enterprise MES platforms (Siemens Opcenter, Dassault DELMIA, Rockwell FactoryTalk, SAP ME, Apriso, or similar).
- Experience integrating MES with enterprise systems (ERP, SCADA, PLCs, LIMS, QMS, WMS).
- Proficiency with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and SQL query language.
- Familiarity with Industrial IoT, data analytics, and digital manufacturing concepts.
- Working knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.
- Understanding of Computer System Validation (CSV).
- Travel up to 25% of the time, depending on requirements.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing certification or training is preferred.
- ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
- Knowledge of MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management) best practices.
