Position Overview

The Aggregate Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Plant location as well as the plant employees.  This position will primarily perform supervisory duties, but on rare occasions may assist with general laborer and equipment operation tasks as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)

  • Coordinates daily work activities, plant organization, reading of plans, etc.
  • Hiring, supervision, and scheduling of all work crews.
  • Organizes plant goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Orders required equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Assists with general laborer duties as needed, which may include shoveling, crusher maintenance, and other tasks as required.
  • Assists with heavy equipment operation, if trained, as needed at plant location.
  • Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
  • Ensure safety compliance with MSHA, OSHA, & Company safety programs
  • Perform and document all necessary training, production, inspections, etc. as required within specified timelines.
  • Comply with CRH subcontractor management standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels to comply with demand and accounting standards.
  • Attend all required performance reviews, forecasting and required training.
  • Create, update, Enhance and complete action items in the Action Plan (Operations, Performance Management, Maintenance, Diagnostic Tools and Technical Resources).
  • Comply and champion all CRH performance metrics and programs.
  • Adhere to all required environmental and regulatory programs and requirements.
  • Work with equipment department on maintenance, proper operation, and scheduling of location equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Will directly supervise 3 to 7 employees

Education and/or Experience 


• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and 3 to 5 years of related supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. 
 
 

Language Skills 


• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
 
 

Mathematical Skills 

 
• Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
 
 

Reasoning Ability 

 
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
 
 

Computer Skills 

 
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately. 

• Have an understanding of Outlook. Must have the ability to read and respond to email. 

• Have an understanding of Quickbase. 

• Have an understanding of One Drive.

• Have a Basic understanding of Microsoft Word. 

• Have a Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel. 

 

 
Certificates, Licenses 

 
• Standard Driver’s License.  

• Medical Card 

• Smith System Drivers Training (Training Available)

• OSHA/MSHA Training (Training Available)

• CPR/First Aid (Training Available)
