Job Summary

As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and directing the maintenance and repair of assigned company delivery vehicles, to ensure non-stop delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnostics, Maintenance & Repair of Class-8 tractors & straight trucks, primarily Mack & Peterbilt’s
• Perform DOT inspections on all assigned class 8 Vehicles
• Maintenance & Repair of Moffett truck mounted forklifts
• Maintenance & Repair of company flatbed trailers
• Coordinate with location managers at various locations to schedule any & all work that need completed
• Fill out parts & service work orders & submit for payment & DOT vehicle service records
• Manage a parts inventory for assigned trucks, trailers & moffetts
• Maintain cleanliness of truck shop, following all company EH&S and OSHA guidelines
• Work is split between working within the truck shop and various company locations

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years' experience working on heavy equipment
• Must provide own hand tools
• Forklift or Moffett experience a plus but not required
• Class B required, class A preferred
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to read & write in English
• Some overtime may be required occasionally
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
• Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
• Ability to operate hand controls with both hands and foot pedals with both feet
• Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
