This role will be responsible for the delivery of solutions, processes and tools related to all area of Financial Applications, Governance and Risk Management.  This position provides tactical ongoing leadership in the planning, definition, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of financial applications systems of American Materials of CRH (AMAT). The position is responsible for the Improvement of business systems with the respective business units, ensuring that the processes and procedures fit with the information systems to provide needed information efficiently, and effectively. The position ensures solutions are scoped properly, while managing cost, schedule and performance projects, as well as ensuring the ultimate success and acceptance end deliverable. The position maintains continuous alignment of initiative and scope with strategic business objectives and makes recommendations to modify approaches to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent. This position will also be central to ensure the Information Technology General Controls are continuously improving from an efficiency and effectiveness perspective.

Responsibilities:

Solution Delivery and Support

  • Works with individuals and teams throughout the organization to define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment and deliver on the plans.
  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Efficiently identifies and solves project issues.
  • Designs and maintains technical and project documentation.
  • Provide comprehensive weekly reports of all activities, engagements and projects
  • Create detailed project design documents and task-level project plans to organize cross-functional teams and drive work.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Manage the framework for defining feasibility, cost, and risks for projects and programs
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project management function
  • Direct and manage enterprise projects and programs as required
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.

Financial Applications Governance

  • Manage efforts to develop, implement and continuously improve internal IT governance processes specific to service management, risk and compliance within the Financial Application Area
  • Ensure incident management systems with root cause analysis and corrective action are implemented within the respective department.
  • Execute, maintain and monitor compliance with IT policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with IT management to develop and implement metrics and reporting capabilities
  • Assist in internal and external audit requirements, implementation of third-party systems, development of internal applications and responses to RFPs regarding governance processes
  • Responsible for All aspects of monthly reporting, budgeting and updates to management.  Creation, updating, reviewing and re-engineering.
  • Proactively communicate improvement and issue resolution opportunities to Senior Management
  • Active participation in IT Financial Application Leadership initiatives

Process Documentation

  • Ensures all documentation for all Financial Application projects is created and maintained to facilitate proper change controls and governance. 
  • Ensure business processes and complex technical specifications are properly documented and stored in the appropriate systems maintained up to date;
  • Responsible for ensuring system documentation (configuration) is created and maintained up to date, including procedural manuals, training videos, best practice documents, etc.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

  • 10+ years with SAP or equivalent ERP implementation in a multi-national company. 
  • Multiple Complete cycles of systems implementations
  • Computer Science Degree and PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of communicating with Senior level executives
  • Solid understanding of a Shared Service environment for Financial applications
  • 10 years of Innovation Management, IT Project Management or IT Management
  • 5+ years’ experience Business Process Change with Financial System impact
  • 5+ years’ experience with continuous improvement of Information Technology General Controls and or SOX controls.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills with the ability to actively listen and effectively understand concerns
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to solve problems
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and monitor progress.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of financial business processes and understanding of financial accounting
  • Understanding of business processes in a heavy building material and Construction organization.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop alternative solutions to problems and recommend the best solution for the business.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with non-technical personnel, administrative users, staff, as well as professional Information Technology Staff
  • Ability to work in a multi priority environment.
