Here’s What You’ll Get to Do

  • Responsible for a mission-critical service requiring stability, reliability, and performance optimization.
  • Manage all network maintenance operations and oversight of other mid-level technical resources.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in concert with the direction and leadership of the IT Network team.
  • Ensure quality and responsive services through management and delivery of ongoing preventative maintenance, assessment, and proactive monitoring.
  • Lead and coordinate IT Network Services development to ensure critical business strategies and processes are supported by systems enabling enterprise growth and flexibility.
  • Maintain and support Network, LAN/WAN (SDWAN), wireless and switch architectures, network hardware, software, and applications.
  • Provide technical and networking expertise, guidance, project management, and serve as an escalation resource for all technical network needs.
  • Provide ongoing review of capacity requirements. Provide network design, security analysis/design, implementation, definition, coordination of standards, project management, and technology research.
  • Ensure IT Business Plan objectives are successfully delivered, meeting quality, time, and budget expectations.
  • Provide leadership to the Network team by communicating vision, strategies, and objects.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to develop and maintain product lifecycle roadmaps.
  • Stay informed of best practices in the IT Network and service delivery field; coordinate and/or evaluates new and emerging practices and technologies; recommend and promote adoption as appropriate.
  • Build trusting relationships with key business stakeholders to align/influence business and IT Network architecture.
  • Provide Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) to benchmark and make proactive decisions to ensure service levels are met.
  • Act as an escalation for network service incidents, changes, requests, and problems.


Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate critical incidents to the Director of Infrastructure.
  • Analyze technical performance and reliability of products, systems, and services compared to identified industry standards in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Interface with key OBE vendors as required, including escalations when facing critical incidents.
  • Engage with Auditors, Legal, and external partners as needed.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all things related to Network operations.
  • Assist and recommend process and quality improvement activities for the organization.
  • Analyze incidents, patterns, and trends to identify opportunities to reduce incidents.
  • Reporting of trends and SLAs relative to overall IT performance and quality of IT systems.


Staff Management

  • Provide Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) to benchmark and make proactive decisions to ensure service levels are met.
  • Develop training plans for EOC Staff and facilitates cross-training and peer mentoring
  • Mentor employees on career development and performance improvement.
  • Responsible for personnel decisions, including performance review and hire/fire activities


Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
  • 8 years of Network Operations experience, including leading network team, ideally in building robust teams
  • Prior experience leading and supporting a Network Incident Management and Proactive Monitoring capability required a solid understanding of applications architecture processes, design patterns, and standards preferred
  • Experience in systems integration methods preferred
  • Prior experience interacting directly with business partners required
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal communication skills are a must
  • Must have a desire to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction, process, and product quality and reliability.
  • Must have outstanding organization and planning skills
  • Proven ability to solve technical challenges and pride in finding sophisticated, sustainable solutions; constantly thinking of ways to improve our productivity, reliability, and quality
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, and SAP
  • Proven Management background in both software and hardware infrastructure teams.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
  • Experience with large-scale global network environments conducting Internet-facing e-Commerce; BGP, OSPF, SDWAN, LAN/WAN network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • TCP/IP and various Internet Protocols DNS, NAT, IPSec, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, SSL, SNMP, NFS, IPv4, Digital Certificates, and Web Security architecture.
  • Make use of enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds and Splunk).
  • L2 technologies-VLANs/VLAN tagging, VTP, Spanning Tree, Etherchannel, port-channel, Gigabit/10Gigabit switched networks.
  • L3 technologies-IP Sub-netting, IP routing, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, VRF.
  • WAN technologies; T1, Broadband, cell wireless, VPN, IPSEC.
  • Wireless Network: includes installing, configuring, and maintaining wireless network equipment, network management, and security, including 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards and industry best practices for implementing high-density WIFI solutions.
  • Firewalls, router ACLs, IPSec VPNs, DNS, RADIUS, and TACACS.
  • Strong ITIL experience.
  • Travel as needed – minimal 10% - 15%
