Position Overview


The aggregate business in Florida is a dynamic environment where local and non-local material sources mesh into the markets via truck, rail and marine sources. These dynamics make logistics a critical part of a successful commercial strategy in the markets we serve. This role will be responsible for leading the commercial and logistics functions of CYD.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Member of the CYD leadership team
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the logistics forces in the markets we serve
  • Demonstrate excellent sales and negotiating skills while participating in logistic rate negotiations and rail & truck asset negotiations
  • Maintain relationships with rail & truck partners and related service providers, including conflict resolution
  • Participate in the sourcing of external materials
  • Sourcing and pricing strategy for internal aggregate demands
  • Commercial strategy for external customers
  • Ability to mesh system dynamics into most efficient model for operating
  • Engage in the Vertical activities of CYD/PMI
  • Meet corporate objectives and individual career aspirations by promoting developmental activities and training of managers
  • Other duties as assigned


Additional Responsibilities

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assist with interviewing and hiring process as necessary.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Willingness to develop subordinates’ technical and leadership skills and make recommendations for new job opportunities when appropriate. Develop annual plans with said employees
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Lead by example.
  • Ability to get work done through others using effective delegation, scheduling, and time management practices.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures and work rules; discipline when necessary and document all employee performance issues.
  • Enforce company safety rules and conduct safety meetings, including tool box talks; ensure facilities are operating in a safe manner.



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • Bachelor’s degree, five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


General Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and qualify to be enrolled in our vehicle reimbursement program.     


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Must possess and have working knowledge to complete necessary mathematical calculations.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data.  This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, construction software and web-based programs.
  • Be familiar with all roles, equipment, and tasks associated with your project(s) and have the ability and willingness to fill in on any role or task as necessary.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable regulations (including MSHA and OSHA) affecting crusher production, safety, environmental, state, federal, and company policies; ensure observance and compliance of such regulations. 
  • Demonstrate high level competency in strategic thinking, negotiating, and commercial acumen
