Position Overview

Plans and directs accounting and finance activities for the Staker Parson South Wasatch Front (SWF) sub‑region, ensuring accurate financial operations and providing guidance across key functional areas.   

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Is a business partner to OpCo Managers providing financial analysis / reports and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Assists SWF controller with production entries, close procedures, and annual SOX controls.
  • Participates in / coordinates Reynold’s, Ogden Oil Terminal, and Elko’s monthly close process with the SWF controller, the Assistant Region Controller, the Region CFO, division personnel, and others.
  • Prepares and helps review OpCo forecasts and budgets. 
  • Ensures compliance with AMAT and West Division policies and procedures and internal controls (SOX).
  • Performs / reviews balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supports external / internal audits.
  • Assists in preparing inventory valuations.
  • Actively participates in process improvement efforts and implementation of new ERP.
  • Works to improve working capital within the region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • 2–5 years of accounting experience in corporate, multisite, or operations environments.
  • Exposure to inventory accounting/valuation and audit support.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written) and presentation skills
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, independent worker, and strong time management skills
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (analytics, large data sets, pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Effective interpersonal skills; building rapport, active listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change

 

Preferences

  • Master’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA
  • SAP S/4Hana experience

 

Additional Requirements

  • Travel approximately 10%
