Position Overview 

 

Reporting to the VP Sales & Marketing the incumbent is responsible for the development of Ash Grove’s business in the Great Lakes region from strategy development through to field execution of sales and technical support. We are looking for a strong performer who can work in a dynamic industry, tolerate ambiguity, and demonstrate problem-solving leadership, while producing measurable results.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge/Skills Required

 

Qualified candidates must possess the ability to:

  • To become very knowledgeable in the Great Lakes markets for cement, concrete, aggregates, and construction.  Work with VP Sales & Marketing and other Ash Grove resources to craft short and long term strategic, financial, and operational plans for the Great Lakes
  • Oversee regional Account Managers and Sales Administrator, while meeting sales volumes and EBITDA targets for cementitious and other assigned products in the Great Lakes markets
  • Must be able to build solid relationships with customers and other influencers within region to further build Ash Grove’s position in market
  • To participate in relevant industry associations in the market
  • Monitor competitive activity and integrate this information into strategic and tactical plans
  • Work in conjunction with local technical services representative to meet after sales support requirements
  • Prepare monthly volume forecasts, financial plans and budget submissions while aligning with other regions
  • Align with terminal and logistics operations to ensure timely product availability, ensure forecast accuracy to guide terminal and logistics decisions
  • Establish, develop, and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze data and provide well supported and applicable recommendations for action
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the business strategies and objectives
  • Promote and support health and safety programs and initiatives to meet OH&S objectives.

  • This position may require some lifting of objects no heavier than twenty pounds (20lbs.)
  • This is sedentary in nature but may require occasional periods of standing and walking

 

Work Environment

 

  • This position requires travel throughout the region and occasional travel across North America.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Degree in business, or engineering/science
  • Minimum 5-10 years professional experience
