Shifts : Rotating Morning and Afternoon Shifts
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to the ORM fleet of light-duty trucks and equipment at the ORM. This includes ordering required parts, removal, rework and installation of various engine and chassis components, as well as performing maintenance schedules.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and keep equipment service records.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Reading electrical and hydraulic schematic is an asset.
- Knowledge of truck and heavy equipment operation
- Working knowledge of related maintenance and repair practices
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears.
- Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
- Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.
- Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.
- Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.
- Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal.
- Direct workers who are assembling or disassembling equipment or cleaning parts.
- Fabrication and welding skills
- Knowledge with on and off-road computer systems
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 310T Mechanic License is required
- 1-3 years of related experience with personal hand tools.
- SAP experience an asset
- Must be self-motivated and work independently.
- Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
- Must be able to maintain a clean safe work environment in and out of shop.
- Maintain a consistent, high level of productivity.
- Takes immediate and independent action to resolve issues or problems when they arise.
- Strong Cummunication Skills and Analytical Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be reliable well under pressure.
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively,
- Taking Initiative to improve business proactises
- As per CBA, 45 hours per week and may be required to work overtime, nights weekends, based on operational requirements.
- Daily exposure to ORM environment i.e., heavy equipment, oncoming traffic, inclement weather (heat, cold, rain etc.)
