Job Summary

The Quality Supervisors' primary responsibilities will be focused on leading the quality auditors on performing daily inspections to ensure the product meet the customer specifications. Perform Internal Audits on all shifts to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and quality management systems’ requirements, identify opportunities for improvement. They will be responsible to communicate daily with operations team on quality issues and will coach and direct the operations team on interpreting quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Assure Quality Management System accomplishment, which is measured through internal and third-party audits through the internal instructions and procedures of process audit, Quality Gemba Walking and customers’ requirements.
  • Manage inspections and approvals through internal procedures and utilization of third-party laboratories and use of applicable standards (ASTM, ASME, AASHTO, AWS, others).
  • Responsible for approval of the manufacturing process through instructions and procedures that are performed by Quality Auditor/technicians.
  • Improve the standard work from established Quality Management System (QMS) or pursuant to ISO:9001 in order to assure that all procedures and tasks are done.
  • Support in implementing or maintaining QMS as needed.
  • Translate orders, contracts, specifications, and engineering drawings into inspection instructions.
  • Assist in completion of contract review.
  • Able to independently resolve most operations issues (customer requirements, facilities issues, technical problems) within set operations parameters, engaging Area Quality Manager and support functions.
  • Directly supervises employees and performs other administration tasks such as interviewing, hiring, labor and absence, scheduling training, writing performance evaluations, addressing disciplinary issues, and documenting accordingly.
  • Primary responsibility for customer corrective and preventive reports and actions verification/implementation.
  • Attend Production and tooling meetings.
  • Administer the NCR system and manage quarantine product area to ensure timely disposition and control of non-conforming products.
  • Participate/lead plant quality improvement projects.
  • Perform Internal Audits and report results to Quality Manager.
  • Reduce scrap, increase productivity and efficiency in the Quality area.
  • Generate reports and records as requested.

 

Job Requirements
 

  • 2 yr. experience with Quality Management Systems meeting ISO:9001 or IATF 16949.
  • 2 yr. team Management and supervision of direct reports.
  • Experience leading a team for complex root cause analysis.
  • Certified Internal Auditor to ISO:9001 or similar standards.
  • Creation of metrics for data analysis.
  • Establish standard operating procedures.
  • Supplier qualification and audit.
  • Welding qualifications and process certification.
  • Metallurgical analysis and reporting.
  • Lean Management practices.
  • Utilization of Microsoft office products.
  • Manufacturing Methods.
