This position will perform general administrative duties for the department assigned to. The individual will perform routine clerical functions and may support more than one department simultaneously.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepares reports, sorts, and files documentation
  • Assist management in forecasting sales demands to maximize production efficiencies
  • Determines optimal manufacturing and purchasing volumes based on historical usage and current level of stock
  • Prepare and issue daily production schedules to minimize inventory levels while maximizing product availability and customer satisfaction
  • Orders and maintains production supplies
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices
  • Issues purchase orders and receive products into Lawson
  • Contact suppliers on adjustments, incorrect materials/supplies, delivery delays as well as take orders and support timely fulfillment
  • Manage raw material inventories and ordering
  • Some A/P & A/R filing
  • Assist accounting department in verifying pricing and receipts of purchased products
  • Support and backup dispatch as applicable to business needs
  • Assist in implementation of maintenance connection tracking system
  • Assist in customer service/dispatch departments
  • Conducts safety orientations with visitors
  • Identify hazards using the Oldcastle Near Miss Potential Hazard program
  • Working with operations and management to establish corrective and preventative actions to eliminate hazards
  • Complete required incident investigations, input analysis, and track corrective and preventative actions
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation and submittal of permit applications to the proper regulatory agencies
  • Assess and assist employees with personal protective equipment
  • Provide support to site construction management in developing and implementing new programs, new permits, and new equipment
  • Enter and maintain safety-related data into Oldcastle's software
  • Arrange for, disseminate, and develop specific training as required
  • Inspect work environment, machinery, and equipment in establishments and other work sites conformance with standards
  • Think critically and identify areas for Improvement by working collaboratively with area and regional management
  • Observe employees and determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used
  • Halt any unsafe action or work
  • Ensure all inspections and meetings are completed each month
  • Maintain air, water, hazardous waste, and any other permit compliance
  • Provides support for assigned department(s)
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

  • At least a High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred) or equivalent and a minimum of 1-year manufacturing facility support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment (phone, fax, copier, 10-key)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with employees, peers, supervisors, vendors, and customer is an effective manner
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Ability to perform math calculations
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables with little or no structure
  • Internal and external customer service oriented
  • Ability to work independently


Physical Environment


  • Ability to perform sedentary work, walking, standing, squatting, and bending required
  • Ability to lift up to 94 lbs.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, stacking, and repetitive use of fingers and hands for typing
  • Available to work overtime as necessary to include weekends and holidays
  • May be required to work under stressful conditions
