POSITION OVERVIEW

Works with strategic buyer and management to support purchasing needs/functions. 

• Locating suppliers

• Researching goods, services, and materials

• Processing purchase orders

• Negotiating contracts

• Analyzing data to secure reasonable prices

• Adhering to laws and policies regarding the purchase of goods and services

• Maintaining detailed records of business transactions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generates orders within purchasing system and place orders with external vendors

• Works with existing suppliers to investigate order issues and resolve discrepancies

• Train and assist field employees in order process

• Daily Administrative and Office Duties

• Other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have strong attention to detail 

• Must be customer service focused

• Ability to be flexible with scheduling

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and accounting/procurement systems.

• Must hold a valid state drivers’ license with satisfactory driving record, pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.

• Experience in asphalt construction operations is a plus

• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, twisting; lifting 15 pounds at times; be able to travel to regional offices and remote construction and work sites regularly.
