Manage team of purchasing professionals for P2P designated categories of spend.  Provide leadership for the development, planning, and execution of sourcing strategies, including utilization of national/preferred vendors


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provides oversight to all purchasing activities to maintain collaborative partnerships with business partners and vendors to ensure alignment with OpCo and sourcing strategy
  • Oversees purchasing agents to ensure all activities (entering PO’s, sourcing decision, receipt process, closing PO’s) within the procurement process are followed in accordance with procurement best practice procedures
  • Provides leadership to enable the team to understand the sourcing strategy and procurement best practices
  • Monitors and evaluates category performance
  • Consults and collaborates with stakeholders (including requestors) to deliver optimal sourcing solutions to meet business needs
  • Partners with Strategic Buyer(s) to ensure alignment with sourcing strategy and vendor relationships to drive effectiveness and value
  • Collaborates with Strategic Buyer(s) to share knowledge and information with purchase agents regarding sourcing strategy, national/preferred programs, and vendor relationships
  • Facilitates and participates in feedback loop with the Strategic Buyer(s) to provide feedback on what is working well, opportunities to improve, and share continuous improvement ideas
  • Monitors purchasing team key performance indicators and quality
  • Provide oversight and ensures visibility into emergency after hours Pcard spend to limit misuse
  • Provides day to day management of direct reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Facilitates and maintains collaborative vendor relationships
  • Resolves issues
  • Fosters, develops, and maintains a collaborative relationship with Accounts Payable
  • Directs and oversees the training and quality of activities within purchasing team
  • Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of OSHA/MSHA and Pennsy Supply, Inc. of the MIDA group.
  • Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK, etc).

  • Demonstrated knowledge to lead supplier rationalization and sourcing and negotiation strategy
  • Experience working closely with the construction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with procurement tools, process, and systems
  • Strong customer service skills and high comfort level with supplier conversations
