What You’ll Do:

As a Finance and Accounting Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work and learn in various accounting roles for Mountain Enterprises, Mountain Aggregates and Mountain Materials. These areas include accounts payable, accounts receivable, job billing and job costing.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Daily and monthly responsibilities include:
    • General ledger maintenance
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Bank reconciliations and/or cash receipts processing
    • Accounts payable
    • Inventory management
    • Accounts receivable and customer management
  • Assist with certain tax filings and audits throughout the calendar year.
  • Assist with other special projects that may arise during the internship

Required Qualifications:

  • Must either be a recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
  • Proficient with computers and different finance software programs.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Have strong organization and time management skills with the ability to work without distraction.
  • Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of financial principles.
  • Must have a very high sense of rigor to prevent any form of mistake that may occur in the process of documenting financial information.
  • Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for 8+ hours a day.

As an accounting intern, you’ll receive a competitive hourly salary. This is a full-time exempt position, reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance. Little to no travel is expected in this position.
