Position Overview

This position offers a diverse set of responsibilities and will work alongside the President, the Assistant Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Senior Management on various issues and projects. This position will be based out of Lexington, KY and will be responsible for leading an accounting team that supports multiple lines of businesses for a recent acquisition. The candidate must be a skilled financial professional who understands business, operations and financial processes and the ability to integrate finance and operations while collaborating with operational leadership. Core behavioral characteristics include: being a partner to business managers; implementing analytical decision-making in the business; and proactively finding opportunities and recommending ideas for increased profitability. Must possess leadership qualities and demonstrate success in developing talent, treating others with respect, setting a positive tone, and demonstrating patience and calmness when handling adversity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the accounting and finance operations of the company ensuring adequate controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets of the company. This includes SOX controls and IFRS requirements, ensuring the integrity of the financial data and reporting.
  • Responsible for managing month-end close and the financial reporting processes.
  • Perform and direct general ledger accounting functions as needed.
  • Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring the accuracy and adhering to established procedures prior to processing.
  • Conduct analysis/review of P&L accounts to support the month-end process along with cost analysis and evaluation.
  • Review balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to confirm proper reconciliation and supporting backup.
  • Coordinate with departments and employees performing financial reporting, payables, billing, collections, and payroll duties.
  • Coordinate requests/documentation related to external and internal audits.
  • Recommend, lead and/or assist with new efforts to improve management and financial performance.
  • Work with the President and senior operations management on financial analysis, CAPEX requests, annual budgets, monthly forecasts, strategic plan, etc.
  • Lead and develop accounting staff while maintaining good working relations with managers from the business.
  • Work with the company’s leadership team to execute on decision-making with an emphasis on performance improvement.
  • Performs other functions/assignments as is needed by other department personnel and by division leadership.
  • Work on ad hoc projects as directed. 

 

 Qualifications (Education/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience; CMA, CPA, or MBA preferred.
  • Five plus years of experience.
  • Construction and/or manufacturing background along with multi-unit operations is highly desired.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.
