Job Summary

 

As the Learning and Development Technical Writer you will work as part of a team to create world-class corporate and product training in a creative and exciting way. You will assist in the instructional design, development and implementation of key strategies associated with training.  You will create innovative and engaging training content at scale and customize where appropriate. You will also partner with content and skills experts to bring a cohesive development experience to our employees.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand learning and development needs and translate them into training content.
  • Participate in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of training programs.
  • Stay up to date on the latest product launches and synthesize this information into educational training materials.
  • Organize existing content into new learning materials and paths based on presentation and education industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain project documentation libraries in SharePoint.
  • Perform Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to validate the effectiveness of training initiatives.

 

Required Education/Experience

 

  • BA/BS degree in related field (Technical Writing, Educational Psychology, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience writing and designing product or soft skills training materials.
  • Experience designing and developing course content, materials, assessments, and evaluations.
  • Experience with Learning Management systems.
  • Experience working with outside vendors and managing relationships.
  • Experience in Project Management, with the ability to multi-task and advance activities across multiple concurrent work streams.
  • Superior editing, writing, and critical reasoning skills; outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and presence.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly.
  • Experience developing best practices training based on industry trends a plus.
  • Presentation experience and familiarity with facilitation techniques a plus.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with confidence across functions and levels.
  • Clear understanding of business needs and sensitivity to differences across various groups.
