General Labourer - Metcalfe, ON

Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products.  Permacon is a division of Oldcastle APG and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec. 

We are currently looking for a General Labourer at our Metcalfe plant (located south of Ottawa at 6860 Bank Street).  The successful candidates must be available to work on a shift rotation, day and night. 

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the General Labourer must be able to handle various tasks including the following:

• Clean mixers
• Participate in production and preventative maintenance of equipment as requested.
• Perform yard and plant clean-up and keeps his work area clean
• Sort and manipulate concrete products
• Repair broken pallets
• Apply all health and safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment
• Maintain quality standards on products

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Manufacturing work experience
• Forklift certification 
• Good team work skills and initiative
• Safety oriented
• Good mechanical aptitudes and capability to progress as a machine operator
• Good learning capabilities
• Capability to perform continual physical work in a dusty environment
