Draftsperson reports to the Manager, Production Engineering and is responsible for the preparation and initial review of shop drawings, material take-offs, and fabrication releases for production. He/she is also expected to contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team.


•    Prepare shop drawings, material take-offs and fabrication releases for window and curtain wall projects from architectural and structural drawings, under the supervision of a Senior Draftsperson 
•    Prepare embed drawings, shop drawings and details, material take-offs, fabrication releases and installation instructions for window and curtain wall projects based on architectural and structural drawings or models with assistance and direction from Job Captain.
•    Customize existing system details to meet project requirements
•    Review and verify conformance with applicable codes and standards, project specifications and requirements.
•    Check the work, specifically drawing submissions and take-offs, for accuracy
•    Ensure adherence to project scope and schedule
•    Adhere to drafting standards and procedures
•    Cooperate with and provide information and assistance to other project team members 
•    Other assignments that may arise.


•    Technologist diploma in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or architecture and several years of experience in commercial aluminum fenestration industry.
•    Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor.
•    Ability to work with Revit an asset.
•    Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Bluebeam.
•    Understanding of Canadian and US codes and standards applicable to building envelope systems
•    Understanding of fabrication and installation processes
•    Understanding of building science, structural and thermal principles an asset
