Position Overview
This is a skilled position requiring a detail-oriented, organized, safety-minded individual to work in conjunction with the environmental team to ensure the compliance of activities at facilities mainly located in Utah.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Conduct compliance reviews, inspections, and internal audits to ensure adherence with all applicable water quality permits, rules, and regulations.

Obtain all water quality permits required for company facilities.

Ensure all compliance or monitoring tests are conducted in accordance with timeframes outlined in water quality permits.

Maintain documentation of compliance activities such as inspections, audits, complaints, and investigations using existing environmental compliance or reporting tools.

Participate in training and support activities for internal field employees and managers on water quality policy, best practices, and compliance requirements.

Participate in Utah Water Quality regulatory updates, local stormwater coalition meetings, and other related environmental legislation.

Develop and implement compliance plans such as Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Monitoring and sampling plans, and Groundwater Permits by Rule.

File all compliance or annual reports required by water quality regulatory agencies.

Carry out all assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner.

Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
-
Two or more years of experience in environmental field is preferred.

Other related experience in the industrial/construction industry with increasing responsibility such as mentorship or leadership roles, or facility inspection activities.
Licenses/Certifications
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Be willing to get valid Medical Card as per DOT standard.

Willingness to obtain necessary certification and/or training (i.e., RSI/RSW, Hazwoper, CISEC)
Work Requirements

Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Safety Vests.

Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.

Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Working knowledge of computer use and associated computer programs including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical ability and process improvement knowledge.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations.

Ability to develop and foster relationships and trust at all levels of the organization.

Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and manage workload appropriately

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. Physical agilities test may be required.
Work Environment
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; extreme cold and/or heat; and moving mechanical parts with elevated noise levels.
