Job Summary

 

The Process Engineer will develop a strategic automation program to insure operational reliability, operational efficiency, energy conservation and optimal manufacturing practices to extend asset life and lower operating expenses.

 

Job Duties

 

  • Executes key workplace methods to drive risk reduction through hazard analysis, BBSO’s, VOP’s, and implementation of safety improvements.
  • Plans and directs team members in the efficient and safe means to troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain manufacturing processes, equipment, tools and property.
  • Oversees computerized systems and robotic devices for optimal performance of production and operations at the facility.
  • Drives and champions automation improvement projects.
  • Schedules and oversees routine diagnostic checks and monitoring on all automated systems.
  • Requisitions contract work and equipment necessary for larger scale projects.
  • Implements training plans to develop skill set of those responsible for servicing automated equipment.
  • Assists other functional areas of the plant to foster teamwork, shared results and programs to sustain adding value to the plant.
  • Leads, guides and directs resources to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and housekeeping targets.
  • Defines, develops and improves molding process plans to achieve and sustain operational measures.
  • Determines, recommends and implements molding process systems and methods to ensure raw materials and molding processes yield components that meet customer requirements.
  • Assists with Capital project planning for related production equipment to meet capacity, quality, safety and efficiency targets.
  • Responsible for improvements to work cell designs, part presentation, flow of material and components to support continuous improvement.
  • Works with local production team and product design group to bring innovation to existing and new products to leverage process improvements.
  • Leads efforts to insure part quality through use of design of experiments, mistake proofing and related manufacturing techniques on the operational floor.

 

Required Responsibilities

 

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience with demonstrated skills in a manufacturing environment leading, implementing and integrating automation systems.

 

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements

 

  • Physical demands:  Walking, standing, climbing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push and lift items.
  • Lifting requirements are generally up to 40 pounds.
  • Environmental conditions involve generally indoor work, but occasionally around hot equipment or outdoor conditions.
  • Job responsibilities involve occasional exposure to oil and grease.
