Job Summary
The Vibration Technician reports to the Reliability Engineer. This person is expected to have very strong mechanical skills, and experience in gathering and analyzing vibration data and to work with little or no supervision while performing complex maintenance on the equipment necessary for the manufacturing of cement. Duties will include monthly vibration data collection, analysis, and reporting. The Reliability Technician will also oversee all technologies implemented at the site; this includes Infrared Thermography (mechanical & electrical) and Ultrasound.
What you’ll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Inspect plant process machinery and provide recommendations for repair.
- Install & repair plant process machinery and provide detailed written description of work performed.
- Operate equipment such as boom-lifts, cranes, forklifts, and other related mobile equipment.
- Provide scope of work, parts requirements, and equipment requirements for repairs during both scheduled and unscheduled mill and kiln outages.
- Take monthly vibration route readings on both kiln lines, analyze the data, and provide recommendations for repair to the Reliability Engineer.
- Experience with vibration data collection and analysis (CSI 2140 and AMS Machinery Manager)
- Assist field maintenance and operations teams with preventative maintenance best practices and procedures.
- Provide technical support and direction identifying machinery performance issues.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- High school graduation or equivalent is required
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided
- High School or Equivalent, some college preferred.
- Vibration Analysis Level II Certification
- Must have minimum of four years’ experience in heavy process equipment, preferably in the mineral processing industry, or a minimum of six months experience cement plant operations.
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
