PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This is a position involving the safe and efficient utility duties at Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Plants and Stone Terminals. Candidates will be required to work as part of a two & three-man operation, teamwork and cooperation are essential. Plants produce HMA at night to supply paving operations, so candidates must be able to work nights.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  1. Safe and efficient maintenance and clean up duties at an HMA Plant and unloading of rail cars at Stone Terminals.
  2. Compliance with company safety standards and related paperwork.
  3. Ability to learn plant operations to fill in when required.
  4. Repair and maintenance of plant components.
  5. Compliance and monitoring of site environmental requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Thorough understanding and compliance with company safety policies.
  2. Plants operate at night for extended periods of time, must be able to work nights on a steady basis.
  3. Capacity to work well and communicate with customers, management, and fellow employees.
  4. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  5. Mechanical competence.
  6. Capability to complete required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  7. Operational Knowledge of HMA plants and ability to operate equipment safely helpful.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

 

Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA, MSHA, and state agencies. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, face shield, welding helmet, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, respirator, air monitor, reflective safety vest.
