Position Overview


Our company is currently looking for an experienced Plainville Quarry Operations Assistant.  This position will play an integral role in the organizational strength of our company.  The Plainville Quarry Operations Assistant will provide operations and administrative support to the existing management team.  They will also greet and direct visitors, and answer and respond to calls and emails.  Qualified candidates will have impeccable verbal and written communication skills, a strong ability to multi-task and a friendly demeanor.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Coordinate with operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
  • Assist the Plainville team in daily operation assignments
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
  • Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Daily job costing of various operating expenses such as labor and equipment hours
  • Fill quarry operations parts order requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
  • Notify local organizations and individuals of quarry blasting operations
  • Assist colleagues whenever necessary
  • Grow knowledge base in quarry operations and processing equipment to bring increased value to the local team
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Able to complete complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and other company enterprise software packages
  • Experience & qualifications in purchasing, payroll, and/or job costing will be an advantage
  • High school diploma; Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Lifting requirements – up to 50-lbs
