Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking Procurement Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned procurement professional with a proven track record of delivering results and the business acumen to influence strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Take ownership as the lead buyer for the company, proactively identifying cost-saving and service-improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate and partner with line of business managers on day-to-day operations as well as strategic projects to identify cost saving opportunities and potential new vendors/supplies.
- Guide and inspire your local team to implement high-impact procurement tactics, delivering on cost and margin improvement goals.
- Drive annual budgeted cost savings, margin enhancements, and other procurement benefits using leading-edge procurement practices.
- Develop and maintain an effective Procurement Management dashboard, providing clear monthly reporting on savings, key initiatives, and projects (KPIs).
- Align procurement and portfolio strategies with overall business objectives to maximize value creation.
- Oversee the development and execution of procurement category strategies and plans across all business channels, including supplier negotiation, selection, and evaluation.
- Build and own strong supplier/vendor relationships, taking decisive actions to deliver growth and value.
- Review contracts and work with internal legal and safety team to ensure compliance with contractor requirements. Drive profitability targets and ensure sustainable procurement performance by identifying key trends and market dynamics.
- Apply advanced procurement principles to achieve the best cost outcomes for the organization.
- Champion the execution of local category strategies in close partnership with the Local Category Manager and Divisional Procurement leader.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years of related experience
- 5-8 years of industry or business-related experience
- Experience working with project management or project delivery, supplier relationships/project management/negotiations
- Microsoft Office applications required.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification desired
- Experience in mining, construction or manufacturing perferred

- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Understanding of procurement’s impact on financial results
- Physical exam, drug screen and background check required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required

Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA, MSHA, and state agencies. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, face shield, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, respirator, air monitor, reflective safety vest, and hearing protection.
