POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Crew member essential to the removal of bituminous concrete on highways/private roadways/parking lots/ and driveways through the operation of milling.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  1. Operation of the milling machine making normal adjustments for obtaining proper depth and finish of roadway.
  2. Must partner with crew members to remove concrete per plan specifications and perform tasks of the positions instructed by crew foreman to ensure daily schedules/estimates are met.
  3. May be required to use the following tools: brooms, picks, concrete saw, hammer/drill, as well as, other tools needed to complete jobs within specifications.
  4. Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extreme conditions and for extended hours of time.
  5. Attendance required to sure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.
  6. Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and the public.
  7. Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift. Overtime work is required.
  8. Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition.
  9. Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
  10. Must pass drug test and criminal background check.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. High School diploma
  2. High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.  High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

 

Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies.  Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position:  Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, safety vest/high visibility clothing for any work in the field.
