Summary

Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the plant and dispatch group in entering cash into the COD tool.
  • Collect the daily mail and disperse to appropriate parties.
  • Work with payment application group in Utah when collecting payments received in the daily mail and code/apply appropriately towards customer accounts.
  • Notify Credit Manager of any payment discrepancies noticed when working with payments
  • Assist with answering phones and dispatching calls to the appropriate parties.
  • Serve as a backup to the Accounting Assistant
  • Scan and index tickets that the plants send to corporate office
  • Receive COD Cash payments from plants. Count funds to ensure all are correct.
  • Send out certified mail to consumers as directed by Credit Manager
  • Work with the Accounting Assistant in communicating and recording NSF Checks
  • Communicate with customers in regards to address and banking changes.
  • Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
