Position Summary

 

The LCM is a member of the Group Maintenance and Production Services category team and is a key interface between the category team and relevant business(s).  The LCM is accountable for  implementing all category related decisions products and services on a local level. In addition the LCM acts as a lead buyer for local organisations/businesses who do not have a dedicated LCM in place. The LCM Ensures that local business requirements are considered in the category strategy and is responsible for providing regular category communication/updates to the relevant business(s) and key stakeholders

 

Category Scope: Fixed Equipment Maintenance Services, Plant specific services, safety and environmental services, Production Services (refractory services, silo cleaning, etc.); Maintenance Third Party Services (general contractors, mechanical, electrical, etc.); Quarry services (blasting, stripping, crushing).

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Representative and lead buyer for own and other (local) organisations 
  • Main contact person for the business in the local organisation 
  • Acts as escalation for claims not solved locally
  • Ensure the category strategy is executed locally
  • Execute the RFx and tactical process including negotiation for smaller or single-country categories
  • Coordinates all category activities within defined area of responsibility during bid and project execution phase
  • Is accountable for development, execution, and maintenance of procurement strategy and Project Procurement Plans in alignment with business stakeholders as well as market and global procurement strategies
  • Accountable for relevant category KPI Performance Management and process adherence within own area of responsibility
  • Ensures execution of S2P process (from screening to onboarding and lifecycle management) for local suppliers
  • Maintains strategic relationships with key category suppliers as agreed with RCM and GCM 
  • Analyses supply market, anticipates changes, and drives associated procurement activities
  • Evaluates contracts and suppliers in order to facilitate final supplier base decisions with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensures products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner, implements and ensures purchasing best practices
  • Coordinates category and supplier strategy implementation in scope of responsibility

Education and Experience

 

  • Educated to a degree in Business or Technical
  • 5 or more years of Procurement experience   
  • Experience in managing a local category in a  multi country organisation    
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus
  • Willing to cooperate in international projects
