Summary:
The procurement manager implements the cost-effective purchases, source, and negotiation of all services and equipment. Ensures quality control and adherence to the company’s policies
What you’ll be contributing:
- Develops procurement strategies that are suitable for the project, the timeline, and the risks associated with the project delivery.
- Develops a structured qualification process that sources and engages reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Revises the tender documentation making sure of the completeness of the package, manages the request for quotation using the e-procurement corporate portal, and negotiates with suppliers and vendors to secure contract terms.
- Develops the procurement plan in coordination with the project managers and the project planner. Prepares procurement reports.
- Ensures projects meet the timeline of the procurement process, following the project master schedule.
- Builds and maintains long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Manages the procurement process up to the signature of the contract and subsequently issuing the purchase through the corporate MRP system.
- Performs risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Assists the project manager with contract management, claim management, and contract closing.
- Controls the procurement budget and promotes a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, finance, accounting, or a related field
- 7 or more years in procurement, finance, accounting, or related field with supervisory responsibility required
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills including the ability to make effective presentations
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in time management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of the cement process
- Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
- Demonstrated ability to implement processes to completion
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel to the conclusion
Environment:
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking
- Constant hearing, use of vision, use of computer, telephone
- Occasional driving, bending, crouching, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces, pushing/pulling, and working at high elevations required
- Occasionally working in extreme heat/cold, wet/humid conditions, dust/smoke/fumes, around equipment in motion, varying noise levels, poor lighting, and exposure to jarring and vibration.
