Position Overview

The Sales Representative is a part of Tilcon’s commercial sales department and provides sales expertise, customer focus, market knowledge, and product knowledge. The Sales Representative is continually looking for opportunities to increase sales growth, market growth and positively impact Tilcon’s revenue.


Roles and Responsibilities

(Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Demonstrates leadership in supporting our core values: Safety, Integrity, and Quality
  • Fully committed to Zero Safety in travels
  • Responsible for working with the Credit Department and assisting with the Collections process.
  • CRM ( updating with daily Sales Calls to log all customer interactions and Market Intel
  • Maintaining an accurate backlog and working with multiple lines of business to ensure proper long term and short term sourcing
  • Quoting of customers in Material Quote with the assistance of Inside Sales when needed 
  • Collaborate with other Sales Personnel to make sure Tilcon is supplier of choice for all products and services
  • Active participation in various trade associations and community involvement
  • Supports Operations and product quality
  • Collaborates with all Tilcon LOB to assure customer satisfaction and business accountability
  • Establishes new business opportunities with potential customers
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with ease
  • Builds long term relationships with customer base
  • People person with good communication skills
  • Participate fully in product training sessions, meetings, skills training and professional development classes.
  • Problem solver with ability to create solutions
  • Provide timely preparation of paperwork, reports, and sales quotes
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery modes, and geography
  • Keep management informed of activity in sales markets
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to successfully complete all tasks in a timely manner
  • Displays professional demeanor both on the phone and in person
  • Ability to remain organized while handling multiple projects/ tasks
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.


Marginal Duties and Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.




  • BS degree in Marketing or other business related discipline or a HS diploma with 5 years of sales or other relevant experience
  • General accounting knowledge required
  • Knowledgeable in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), and Outlook.



Work Requirements

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends,and at times holidays
  • Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors/managers with other duties as required.
