Position Summary


The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and modifying drawings per specifications and customer requirements. Will determine project criteria and perform calculations and furnish details for standard and complex projects. Will receive and convey technical information by phone and e-mail about projects or relating to product applications in general.Other duties will include, but are not limited to:


  • Adhere to customer (internal and external) volumes, timelines and expectations
  • Calculate lifting, connection and forming designs
  • Work in teams on product development and testing
  • Assist engineering in investigating product problems or failure on projects
  • Approve manufacturing drawings
  • Prepare test reports
  • Provide technical support for our products
  • Guide customers with product decisions
  • Less than 10% travel


Qualifications (Education/Experience) and Required Skills


  • Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering
  • Two years of experience in structural precast concrete products preferred.
  • Experience with ACI and PCI preferred
  • Ability to use a variety of computer programs, including AutoCAD or Inventor, Mathcad and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, and be able to perform structural designs
  • Ability to visualize objects from verbal instruction
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work closely with others
  • Self-starter motivated with ability to start and finish a project on time. Must be able to handle several projects at once with minimum help or guidelines from department
  • Ability to interact with customers, managers, engineers, drafters, quality control and other employees to resolve engineering and management related issues
