Position Overview

We are seeking an individual to directly supervise the Accounts Receivable/Billing staff in the Spokane Shared Services office of the West Division of Americas Materials.   This individual must provide excellent customer service and support to external and internal customers and establish/maintain effective work relationships with new and existing customers through a high degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Responsible for direct supervision of the Accounts Receivable/Billing department staff:
  • Promote an open and collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed as assigned and according to company processing timelines and internal controls.
  • Delegation and management of team tasks as assigned.
  • Continuously review existing processes for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to customers by phone and email to include account questions, billing inquiries and customer payments.  Research questions to determine the issue, and what, if any corrective action is required to prevent future occurrences.
  • Communicate positively and effectively with others both internally and externally to ensure accurate information is received and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with others within the West Division and Americas Materials on initiatives and process improvements.
  • Manage and promote the Customer Portal.
  • Oversight of the customer master database to ensure accurate data is maintained to include customer terms and tax status.
  • Prepare monthly General Ledger and Sub-Ledger account reconciliations or other management reports as assigned.
  • Prepare and enter general ledger transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and support a strong internal control environment.
  • Strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley and company policies.
  • Observe confidentiality of company information; written and verbal.
  • Observe company safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • AA in Accounting a plus
  • Intermediate Excel Skills a plus
  • 3 or more years experience supervising an accounting team, Accounts Receivable preferred.
  • 5 or more years experience in accounting is required with a focus on Accounts Receivable and Customer Service.
  • Manufacturing or construction accounting background a plus.
  • Must have a proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.
  • Self-Motivated and effective communication skills required.
