Position Overview

 

This is a skilled position overseeing the safe and efficient production and load out of materials produced in company HMA plants. The HMA Plant Lead is responsible for ensuring all HMA plants and their supporting equipment are in efficient working condition, meeting all production needs of the business and in line with set working schedules.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and management using all communication facets (verbal and written).
  • Dissipate important information to HMA personnel as needed and ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to all company policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrate and promote an engaging work environment in line with CRH's guiding principles.
  • Positively promote company initiatives and activities.
  • Oversee the daily operation of all HMA plants performance including safety, quality , and financial aspect of the business.
  • Coordinate all training and required training compliance of hot plant operations (smoke school, MSHA, etc.).
  • Provide guidance, direction, performance management, and development opportunities to HMA plant operators.
  • Help coordinate work and employee scheduling, including winter maintenance.
  • Facilitate and actively sponsor education and utilization of the company's performance tools seeking to improve overall plant performance and efficiency.
  • Work cohesively with environmental personnel to ensure all HMA plants are environmentally compliant, meeting or exceeding all testing and permit requirements.
  • Ensure all hot plants are adequately staffed to meet company production and efficiency needs.
  • Seek, share, and promote business conscience activities that will increase employee retention.
  • Work with management to fully understand the financial aspect of the HMA business and its impact on the business.
  • Collaborates with other departments to develop schedules, targets, and other relevant business goals.
  • Conduct informational and other training presentations as needed or required.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control personnel to ensure our products meet and exceed product quality requirements.
  • Maintains all time and materials records in compliance with company retention practices.
  • May be required to assist with HMA plant operation/maintenance as needed.

 

    • Ensures HMA operations work within budget constraints; meeting or exceeding set performance targets and goals.
    • Be on time and fit for duty for every shift.
    • Other duties and projects as needed by the business.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Work Requirements

    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write correspondences and memos.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
    • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems; uses job specific computer system for ticketing and two way radio for communications.

    • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
