<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Position Overview

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This is a skilled position which requires picking up and delivering of bulk product from suppliers to plants or job sites.  Products include sand, gravel, rock, concrete, and fly ash. 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Thorough operational knowledge and ability to operate trans­ports and related equipment to be loaded and unloaded.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to keep time and material records.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have maneuvering and backing skills.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Properly follow all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is requires
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This position is considered a “Safety Sensitive” position.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Qualifications

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Education/Experience

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum of 3 years experience driving truck with similar weight and equipment preferred.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have a valid driver’s license and must maintain a CDL A or CDL B license.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work Requirements

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must pass DOT physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must possess valid DOT medical card.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">MVR must meet company and DOT standards.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have thorough operational knowledge and skills of dump truck and related equipment to be operated.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have the ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations in order to keep time and material records, and read blueprints or other project documents.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be familiar with securing heavy equipment and other over dimensional loads.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to professionally interact with customers, collect payments and assist with issues that may arise.

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, frequent lifting of extensions chutes, stretching, sitting/driving, shifting gears, and covering/uncovering load when applicable.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">May require sitting for extended periods of time.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs on a repetitive basis.
