Job Description Summary

As a member of the APAC Central team, work with teammates in aggregate production, construction manangement, and safety to learn methods and routines of aggregate materials product production and contribute towards production results and efficiencies all while remembering that our overarching concern is that we all work safely at all times no matter what our role and/or position is within the company. Work will occur in the field and in office settings. The selected candidate will be required to work effectively in a positive team environment with other co-workers, managers, vendors, and customers.


Work Requirements

Be involved in mine planning and stripping plans, surveying and working with engineering staff developing and planning in general and specific around our aggregate production operations.


​Collaborates and conducts with others, geographical exploration reviewing maps and drilling logs to determine location, size, accessibility, and estimated volumes of deposits. 


Works with aggregate production to develop methods to extract minerals, evaluating factors such as safety, operational costs, deposit characteristics, overburden depth, and surrounding strata. Work to troubleshoot technical problems and provide guidance in multiple production/plant and business offices. 


Assists and recommends in coordination of mining processes including types and capacity of haulage equipment working to coordinate teams using excavators, loaders, trucks, and labor requirements.


Assists in laying out and directing mine construction operations, such as location and development of ramps and positioning of excavation benches (levels), access roads , etc.  

Works with aggregate production management to monitor facility projects, such as water and power supply, rock-dust control/abatement, drainage, rail and conveyor systems, material cleaning, grading, and reduction systems. 


Will assist in devising methods and locations to store and replace excavated soil for eventual mine reclamation purposes.


May work to assist analyzing and determining labor requirements, equipment needs, and operational costs for annual budget preparation and reporting.  Will assist in determining long-range planning designs and data to determine proof of financial justification.  


Will apply knowledge and acquired knowledge of aggregate material production methods to solve challenges connected with sustainable engineering, material production methods, and the environment. Will work with the team to ensure company compliance with mandated safety and environmental policies on all mining/material production practices.


Will work with company management, and State and Federal agencies, to ensure compliance all applicable laws and regulations. 


Will be biased towards action, and aggressive in pursuit of solutions.  Will get dirty if required in solving problems! 


Should be able to work with all typical office machinery and equipment, including using Microsoft Office Suite products, among others. 


Will have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. 


Prefer knowledge of construction and material productipn. 


Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical journals, technical documents, etc.


Strong ability and skill to follow-up. attention to detail and organization. 


Will be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, grasp, and lift up to 35 pounds routinely. 


Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. 

Regular, reliable attendance is a requirement of this position.



Current students working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mining or a related field from an accredited university, college, or educational entity, or an equivalent education/degree.  Preference for candidates who interned with aggregate production/mining companies during their college career.
