Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Hardware Assistant for our Westbrook, ME facility. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create Door Fabrication detail packages for Door Fabrication Department from customer quote requests, sales orders and shop drawings.
  • Check all data provided on a given project to ensure that the project is detailed accurately.
  • Check for hardware compatibility with doors and frames detailed.
  • Order vendor hardware for detailed projects.
  • Coordinate the receipt of vendor hardware.
  • Work closely with the shop to handle problems or questions that may arise on door orders.
  • Answer questions from customers and internal personnel regarding doors, hardware, hardware, etc.
  • Check door hardware schedules on shop drawings as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.


Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  • Working knowledge of computers and willingness to learn computer software programs provided by the Company
  • Working knowledge of aluminum doors and door hardware a plus.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good math skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Must be motivated and willing to apply yourself to learn the skills required to perform the job.
  • Experience in door fabrication a plus.
  • Metal and hardware working knowledge.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Computer literate.
  • Experience in the Glass or Construction industry is a plus.


Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand on feet wearing safety boots from 8-10 hours a day
  • Ability to lift, carry, twist, walk, and reach constantly, and bend frequently
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
