Role Description


Sitting within the HR team, you will lead a small team and provide both strategic and tactical input on all Compensation and Benefits related issues.  You will lead on all cyclical activities, such as merit reviews, bonus administration and open enrollment.  You will provide crucial input into numerous initiatives designed to align business strategy and compensation design, as well as lead on various projects.  This role will take some direction from our parent company (CRH) and you will have many interactions with Corporate compensation and benefits leadership.  Although some direction from CRH is given, you will also be expected to bring new ideas to the business.  This is a high visibility role within the HR function and the commercial business.
 

Main Duties

 

  • Manage and Administer all merit and bonus reviews for Executive, Administrative and Production employees across the Global Infrastructure Products Group.  Additionally, work on a continuous improvement basis to update current variable compensation programs (bonus, sales commission, etc.) by leading/participating in Project teams and offering expert advice.
  • Partner with HR Directors to provide advice and guidance on salary benchmarking for new hires, promotions, role changes, etc.
  • Partner with the payroll team on all aspects of compensation and benefits as well as any new initiatives around HRIS improvements, including the automation of merit review and bonus payments via UltiPro.
  • Work with HR Directors to design and implement a recognition and rewards program.
  • Lead on a cross-functional grading/salary banding project designed to ensure pay consistency across the business. 
  • Manage the benefits Open Enrollment process from beginning to end, ensuring all CRH communications are cascaded throughout the business and provide regular updates to the business on enrollment progress.  Ensure all benefits elections are successfully uploaded into the HRIS system (UltiPro) and tested appropriately prior to implementation.
  • Ensure Union health and welfare payments are made in alignment with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Manage the administration, funding and testing of Oldcastle Infrastructure’s 401(k) plan in line with CRH guidance.  Manage the annual 401k Audit process.
  • Partner with the commercial business on any M&A activity, provide compensation and benefits analysis as part of due diligence, specifically advising on benefits costs, and plan on-site benefits workshops to enroll new employees.

 

Experience / Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS in Human Resources or a Finance related field.
  • 7 years of experience in a compensation and benefits management role within a matrix organization, including bonus plan design and administration.
  • Experience of compensation design in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience of working in a Unionized environment.
  • Experience with Ultimate Software as an HRIS platform (UltiPro) preferred.
